How To Select A Suitable Sintered Filter

2025-05-17 Share:

 1. Clarify application scenarios and requirements
Medium type: liquid (water, oil, chemical solution, etc.) or gas (air, steam, etc.).

Filtering purpose: to remove particles, microorganisms, oil stains, suspended solids, or achieve precise separation.

Industry requirements:

Chemical/Industrial: Resistant to strong acids, strong alkalis, or high temperature and high pressure environments.

2. Determine the filtration accuracy (in micrometers)
Particle size: Select accuracy based on the minimum particle size to be intercepted (such as 1 μ m, 5 μ m, 10 μ m, etc.).

Coarse filtration (>50 μ m): protects downstream equipment.

Precision filtration (1-50 μ m): removes fine particles.

Ultra precision filtration (<1 μ m): Microbial or high-purity separation.

Porosity and pollutant holding capacity: High porosity (such as 60% -80%) can improve pollutant holding capacity and extend lifespan.

3. Choose filter material
Stainless steel (304/316L):

High temperature resistance (up to 500 ℃), high pressure, corrosion resistance, suitable for chemical and pharmaceutical industries.

Can be cleaned repeatedly and has a long lifespan.

Brass: economical and suitable for low-pressure air or water filtration.

Polymer materials (PE, PP, PTFE):

Acid and alkali resistant, suitable for food and pharmaceuticals (requiring food grade certification).

PTFE is resistant to high temperatures and has strong chemical inertness.

Ceramics: resistant to high temperatures, can be repeatedly cleaned, but have high brittleness.
